There is a way for you to support St. John Fisher University and feel confident that you have dependable income in your retirement years. You can do this with a charitable gift annuity.

With a charitable gift annuity you agree to make a gift to Fisher and we, in return, agree to pay you (and someone else, if you choose) a fixed amount each year for the rest of your life. The balance is used to support our work.

This type of donation can provide you with regular payments for life and allow Fisher to further our mission. You can also qualify for a variety of tax benefits, including a federal income tax charitable deduction if you itemize.

An Example of How It Works

Rowers at sunset Dennis, 79, wants to make a contribution to St. John Fisher University but he also wants to ensure that he has dependable income during his retirement years. He funds a $25,000 charitable gift annuity with appreciated stock that he originally purchased for $10,000. 5.4%, or $1,350 per year.

Based on his age, he will receive a payment rate of 6.8%, which means that she will receive $1,700 each year for the remainder of his life. He is also eligible for a federal income tax charitable deduction of $12,752* when he itemizes. Finally, he knows that after his lifetime, the remaining amount will be used to support our mission.

*A minimum of $25,000 is required to fund a charitable gift annuity.
