Deciding today to help tomorrow

Dave Glossner

Supporting St. John Fisher University has never been a question for Dave Glossner ’60, a longtime donor and fan of Fisher athletics.

“Fisher has changed so much over the years,” he recalls. “The needs of students today are very different from my time. I want to do all I can to help these young people and to help the University.”

Dave has been a loyal annual fund donor over the years, donating to scholarships and Fisher athletics. He knew students were benefiting, but he wanted to ensure his efforts were having the greatest possible impact. In working with his advisors, Dave recently leveraged the now permanent IRA charitable rollover to endow the Glossner Family Scholarship. With this he receives tax benefits and an endowed fund helps students directly while strengthening the University’s financial position.

“Fisher is in my blood. Both my brother and daughter are alumni, and we have all benefited from our time at the University. I feel it’s important to give back and wanted to make smart choices that will be good for students today and down the road as well,” said Glossner.

Dave has also committed to a planned gift, joining the ranks of the 1948 Society. “I was a member of just the sixth graduating class, and I’ve had the fortune of watching Fisher grow and transform. I want to be part the University’s future success as well.”
